We just announced the release of MathType™ 6.5 for Windows, a new version designed to work with a wide variety of education and scientific applications and websites. Not just for Word and PowerPoint anymore, we also introduced our Equations Everywhere and Anywhere!™ initiative, hosting the MathType Interoperability Registry on our website (www.dessci.com), which is a listing of several hundred popular educational and scientific applications and websites that MathType now works with. This new version also includes translators for Mathematica and Maple, MathML import.
An important new feature for math accessibility is that you can now type TeX/LaTeX equations directly into Microsoft Word and convert them to nice 2D layout... or take MathType equations and convert them to TeX/LaTeX. Although it takes some work to learn TeX, in less than an hour, you can easily learn enough to enter fractions, roots, subscripts and superscripts. This is just the start of what we plan for more accessible math inside of Word.
You can download a full version 30 day trial and then be sure to leave a comment and let us know what you think of the new features!

Math Type 6.5 is a really amazing program. I tried it for 30days and I have to mention that I really liked it. My dad is a math teacher and i showed him this new innovation. He was really enthusiastic and used it during his lessons. After testing this version we bought it and we use it almost every day. I am studying math and I like it, too.Great features and also nice colours :-)
